Dengî Srust was founded in 2017 with a simple belief:

Every frame tells a story. Every story deserves to be remembered.

What began as a vision to document the natural world has grown into an independent documentary initiative dedicated to wildlife, nature, and cultural heritage across the Kurdistan Region and beyond.

Dengî Srust was founded by Dleir Pasha PhD, whose vision, determination, and unwavering belief in the importance of documentary filmmaking laid the foundation for the organization. His commitment to creating an independent platform for environmental and cultural storytelling helped transform an idea into a lasting initiative. Through his leadership and continuous encouragement, Dengî Srust was able to establish its identity and begin its journey toward documenting the natural heritage of the region.

As Cofounder & Lead Filmmaker, Rebaz Manmi ( Rebaz M. Ali )has led the creative direction and documentary production of Dengî Srust since its earliest projects. From field research and wildlife observation to cinematography, directing, editing, and post-production, he has overseen every stage of the filmmaking process, shaping the visual identity and storytelling approach of the organization.

Since adopting an independent production model in 2022, every documentary has been developed through a unified creative vision, resulting in a growing body of work that includes the award winning documentary REBORN (2023) and numerous productions focused on the wildlife and natural heritage of the Kurdistan Region.

​Today, Dengî Srust continues its mission of documenting stories that educate, inspire, and preserve the natural world for future generations. The organization welcomes partnerships with individuals, institutions, and organizations who share a commitment to conservation, education, and authentic documentary storytelling.
